TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Welcome to Milan
Upon arrival, a transfer will take you to our hotel located in the heart of the city where you will have the day to explore the beautiful city of Milan, design capital of the world.
Day 2: Let the games begin!
First thing in the morning we will pick up our bikes, saddle up and set our sites on the Alps. For the initial part of the morning we will ride the highway in order to cut the time and distance between Milan and the Dolmites. Upon approaching Bolzano (150 Miles from Milan), the landscape changes and it is apparent that we are now in the center of the Dolomite Mountains. We will pull into our hotel which is adjacent to a stunning mountainous village, perched up high for the views but still close enough to the village, here we will spend the next four nights. The well known towns of Corvara and Canazei are also just a short drive away.
Day 3: Sellaronda & Marmolada
We will start the day by ascending to the height of the mountain for an amazing view, then down to visit a military base that was dug into a glacier on the mountain (a permanent glacier that does not melt in the summer). This was the front line of defense in World War I battles between Italy and Austria. Now, back to a beautiful mountain pass and curve up, around and down again finishing the loop back to the hotel for the night.
Day 4: South Tyrol
Today we ride the northernmost Italian autonomous region of the Dolomites bordering Austria. Everything about this area walks and talks like Austria, only it belongs to Italy. A visit to the Ladin Cultural Museum, a stop in charming, quaint towns along the way, wonderful rides – some smooth some sharp and then looping back around by way of the north.
Day 5: Amusement Park for Motorcycles
Heading East we will circle and weave through an area that at every turn, and every junction, leads to another mountain pass. We will go up and down and lean into bends that relentlessly reveal new landscapes and crazy mountain peaks in every direction. Today is the ride for riders, with amazing views and endless space. The exact route of this day will be determined only at the end and according to pace without rushing and pressuring anyone to get anywhere. We will take it all in today! Woohoo…..WHAT A DAY!
Day 6 – Stelvio
The Stelvio reserve on the border between Italy and Switzerland is also undoubtedly one of the most beautiful regions in the Alps. Even the road that leads to it is amazing in and of itself. The open road + breathtaking mountain passes = great pleasure. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Bormio, a touristy village which sits at the bottom of the pass in the Stelvio Nature Reserve.
