Northern Greece is one of the most spectacular and wonderful areas for a road-trip, especially on a motorcycle. It combines majestic landscapes, fascinating history, amazing roads, culture, cuisine and a whole lot of fun. But, shush…let’s keep it a secret, because much to our delight, it doesn’t get as much hype as the islands which means less tourist traffic and a real cultural experience.
In 8 days of riding we will cover a large area in the northern region. Most of the sites in this area are not well known and off the “top destination list” of Greece. They include Mount Pelion, the Pindos Mountains, Mt. Olympus, Zagori region, the ancient antiquities of Delphi, the monasteries of Meteora, Vikos gorge, Tzoumerka reserve, the island of Evia and more.
Beautiful countryside roads all over the place, breathtaking views and scenery, the tranquility that is Greece and the best in Mediterranean hospitality!

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1 : Welcome to Greece! Athens to Evia
Upon arrival, we will not waste any time and go straight to pick up our wheels and head off to the island of Evia, the second largest in Greece (after Crete). There we will be greeted warmly with sites of the island’s capital, beautiful promenade, and a sweet ride along the island to the north. A fairly calm Greek Sunday ride until we reach Edipsos in the north of the island – a sleepy and authentic resort town on the waterfront, overlooking the high mountains.
Day 2 : Evia - Pilion
First thing in the morning we pull up on the ferry and take it back to the mainland, towards the Pilion peninsula where we will dedicate the day. This area is one of the most beautiful and visited in Greece, and provides plenty of interest, beauty and nature. A high ridge on both sides of the sea, stunning blue landscapes, the mountains covered with thick forests and winding narrow roads that rise and fall. The local villages and culture are unique to this area, and the architecture, food and atmosphere complement the picture. In the evening we will reach the village of Portaria where we will be spending the night.
Day 3 : Pilion – Meteora
In the morning we will head directly towards the famous Mount Olympus, where in Greek Mythology was the home and dwelling of 9 Greek Gods. We will begin to climb it, and ride through its rich flora, winding around the foot of the mountain we will continue on amazing roads until we reach Meteora in the late afternoon. The Hanging Monasteries, which are included in the UNESCO world Heritage list, are definitely a site to see! Where natural forces that created the huge rock pillars, the ideas of man and immense faith meet. We will be spending the night in a quaint town at the foot of pillars.
Day 4 : Meteora – Zagoria
Just when you thought that nothing can top yesterdays ride, you are in for a surprise as we climb to into the amazing Pindus mountain range and along its ridge. After riding the Katara mountain pass and through a Wallachian village we will enter the breathtaking Zagori region, a powerful landscape for the eyes. Twisting and turning through these nearly deserted roads over its picturesque bridges, into the wilderness and through small stone villages is simply an unforgettable experience. We will stop to observe the view of the Vikos Canyon, the deepest gorge in the world, before arriving at a very special hotel in a quaint village in the Zagori region where we will reflect on our perfect day.
Day 5 : Zagoria – Karpenisi
A relaxing day of pleasant rides will start with a stop in Ioannina for a cup of coffee on the beautiful lake, and will continue along the highway until reaching reentering the mountains big time. Finally arriving at our destination for the next two evenings in Karpenisi.
Day 6 : Karpenisi
A day of more spectacular rides. Cruising through and around Karpenisi - These magnificent roads will take us back to the depth of the Pindus Mountains with high passes and spectacular peaks, canyons, forests, heights, depths, monasteries and villages … until we return back to our hotel for another evening in this beautiful ski town at the foot of Mount Volouxi.
Day 7 : Karpenisi – Athens
Good highways, at the start of our day, will take us to the famous antiquity site of Delphi right around noon. After lunch we will continue riding at the foot of Parnassus to the west and through high mountain roads all the way to Athens. Upon entering Athens, we will return our motorcycles, check into the hotel and get ready for a farewell dinner.
Day 7 : Karpenisi – Athens
Good highways, at the start of our day, will take us to the famous antiquity site of Delphi right around noon. After lunch we will continue riding at the foot of Parnassus to the west and through high mountain roads all the way to Athens. Upon entering Athens, we will return our motorcycles, check into the hotel and get ready for a farewell dinner.
